After I bought it I found it is perfect for airbrushes, HVLP guns, inpact wrenches almost anything around the house. I wouldn't reccomend it for a garage but, for home and small shops like mine it's perfect, a little loud but, you get used to it. One word of advice, it's almost $10.00 cheaper online than in the store. You can pay for it online then go to the store to pick it up. If you buy it in person at the store it's almos $60.00

You have a business: I believe that you need something more suitable and heavy-duty--take it off your taxes! CH isn't a bad brand--it's actually well-regarded. The small-capacity tank hobbles this thing severely, though. A beefier compressor will last longer, too.

For your application, I'd get a 5-6 gallon twin-tank compressor--or a 6-gallon pancake compressor--Wal-Mart offers the latter type from CH for $150+ at stores.

You may be able to get by with the more portable two-gallon or three gallon compressors, though. At Wal-Mart stores, I think that the next CH model upgrade from this is close to merely $20 more in price--that ~$20 likely is more than worth it. Larger compressors offer more functionality and capability--less aggravation. As for portability, most larger compressors have wheels and handles.

Don't worry too much about the PSI output of larger compressors--at this level, and somewhat higher--most are no larger than that indicated for this model--125 PSI. I think that you may add a governor to most compressors to lower that PSI output, if desired. You may then experiment, if necessary, to determine what PSI gives you the best results. Get an air dryer, a good hose, and good quick-connect fittings, too--fittings make life a lot easier!

It'll do whatever pressure you need - the question is how much air an airbrush needs and whether this little compressor can keep up with your on-off cycle.

Only has 0.3 Running HP it is made for light duty. To inflate tires, sports equipment in about three minutes. It is also good for Air brushing and light brad and staple guns. 1 gallon capacity, 120 volt, 110 max psi, 0.5 SCFM @ 45 psi and 0.39 SCFM @90 psi. It is a dial knob set for pressure located on the side of the unit with two Guages for tank and out going psi ....

45 is usually about the right pressure, but depends on your paint and what you are doing. This goes to 110 lbs and it has an adjustable regulator. It's noisy though.

So far a very good buy.Works well for my needs and hope to get many years out of it.

Campbell Hausfeld 1 Gallon Air Compressor

I bought mine a few weeks ago, it works great for airing up tires, airing up tubes for tubing, and blowing away debris from projects. Excellent price for the quality and use of the product.

Great for home and boat use!!

Have used this item several times and I must say that I am impressed in its use and versatility, haven't used it with a brad nailer but will this summer.

works very well

I bought this air compressor to air up the tires in my vehicles. It small and light weight and easy to use. After the tank reaches 100 psi, the compressor will shut off and starts again at about 70 psi. The tire inflation valve isn't the best though and you may have to wiggle it around the tire to get it working.

Works like it should

When you need something that does tires and a whole lot more, this one does the trick. With only a one gallon air reserve you won't be using many accessories. Works great with brad gun.

This great for maintaining tires and brad nailing by regulating your out going pressue recovery time isminiumal

I bought this and got what I expected. The tank fills pretty fast and auto shuts off. The only thing I would say is the valve pieces really need a quick connect adapter to make it easier to change to the ball needle and back to the tire valve piece.

So far runs good and is just what I wanted, however, am disappointed that the literature stated it would have a female coupler with the accessories. Everything was included except the female coupler. had to go buy one, bout $7.00. Can't use without it. Thats why only four stars

CH one gallon air compressor

I would recommend this product only if one is really short of "scratch." Considering what it is, it's OK, I suppose. One thing--it may be better than any small car DC (cigarette lighter socket) unit if you have a strong enough power inverter to run it on AC. That would help better with flats, I think.

(The DC units run really intensely, so, frustratingly, they always die relatively quickly--they don't depend upon filling a relatively large tank, so, they do continuously put out air, however; this thing doesn't put out much air unless the tank fills at least somewhat.)

I have to be patient with constantly recycling the unit. When, I purchased this some years ago, I had never owned an A/C air compressor, so I didn't expect that--I was disappointed, as I'm sure many others here have been. I do use it for tire inflation, but I have to recycle somewhat often.

This thing is not good for much of anything except inflation, tedious blowing, and excessively loud noise! (It includes a basketball needle, a coiled-type hose, and toy inflation nozzles). I think that the company mentions using it with paint guns, but that's likely not, in the least minor way, practical.....

So, I purchased some blower tools, soon after purchase, along with a water-removing reservoir, fittings, and a better hose, all at Wal-Mart.

I also use the item, in place of expensive, hated, under-filled compressed-air cans, for blowing away dust from PCs and electronics. Diligently, I avoid using cans, except for really close or delicate work, so, very patiently, I wait for many cycles. It's been worth it to me, yet now I'm looking for something bigger and better than this. (I'm very glad I purchased the air tools, etc., nevertheless)

As for those people who say it never fills up or it never stops, that could certainly be defective leak of some kind, yet, have they tightened the valve on the bottom of the tank? This valve always appears something like this on "pancake" air compressors (models shaped like this), and, it's intended for draining water that condenses out of the air to the bottom of the tank (the air compression causes far colder air inside the tank--as with refrigeration). Conceivably, this water, if not bled off, could cause the inside of the tank to rust and the tank even to fail later(?!).....

Sometimes, I've noted a little water inside the tank and, less often, my Campbell-Hausfeld water-removing tool's reservoir. (This is a hose tool that I attach to the hose before blower tools; it uses a plastic container that may be unscrewed and emptied.) The air has to be really moist, or condensation is negligible....

I don't really regret this purchase--it saved me a lot of money, and I have some useful tools--(I wonder now about PSI limits on those, however). And, I gained a little knowledge.

I include some photos of the air-dryer/blower-gun/fitting assembly which I use for blowing out dust with this compressor. All these I obtained at Wal-Mart. I consider these relevant to this review of this product and those of competing models....

Fittings are so helpful with air compressors and accessories that they're rarely mentioned--they're virtually essential if one uses the devices frequently! They're great in that world!

Cheapest A/C unit available, period....

I bought this because I didn't want to run my big compressor and lines through the house in the winter , but to my surprise it is LOUDER than he big one! LOL But it does ok for installing trim so far but only used it once. I think its better off to spend a little more and get the next size up when on sale , its actually quieter.
